The music industry allows creative minds to work hand in hand with not only people from their speciality but to also branch out and work together in teams. For people like myself listening to music, following artists and going to events is something that is very important and held very highly in life. I have chosen to apply for a music business/management course as I feel the content and modules included are perfect for me and will enable me to become successful within the music industry. I pursued my education within this field when I studied festival and event management at college, this most definitely confirmed my desire to continue my education and expand my knowledge within music business and management, this will provide me with the resources I need to break into a competitive yet rewarding industry. Having spent two years researching and learning about the different kinds of roles within music management i'm particularly excited to study the marketing and music law modules.

I have been very focused and dedicated towards the coursework whilst studying Festival and event management. Previously I have been involved in promotion, creating press releases, designed logos and edited videos/interviews, therefore I am already well educated within the digital media side of the industry. I have also been a part of a Culture channel in which I was having to create new content each week, this would vary from promotion, social media and interviews. This makes me even more excited to explore and learn in more depth about the different aspects of the music industry. The endless amount of roles within music management and business is what greatly inspired me the most, it creates such amazing opportunities. I am a hardworking and passionate individual who is prepared to go the extra mile to get the qualifications needed to ensure a successful career within this field.

Growing up, music has been an important part of my life. It allows me to feel all possible emotions and is a way for me to express myself. Knowing that millions of people also feel this way towards music encourages me to work ten times harder to ensure that one day I can be a part of the reason why people have such a huge respect and love for music. Being surrounded by family members and friends who are very musically inclined most definitely inspires me, I have also previously myself been in shows when i was younger. I grew up going to gigs at pubs, halls and festivals. This made me very aware of all of the business and hard work that goes into music behind the scenes, I was alway that girl who was curious and asking questions about the small details that no one else really paid attention to, I was fascinated and have since wanted to explore this more in depth.

A huge inspiration of mine has always been Beyonce, not only as an artist has she always represented being powerful to me, but the work ethic she has always portrayed is something not many people have. “Power means happiness; power means hard work and sacrifice.” Beyonce has given me the understanding of how there is nothing more important than doing what you love and always putting your absolute best towards it. Continuing my education within music business and management is what I love.

I consider myself to be hugely dedicated. The self belief i have combined with the passion and hard work is what i feel will prove how worthy i will be to make me a very successful student at university. Once i have put my mind to something i will make sure to achieve the absolute best i possibly can. Nothing would mean more to me than to be given the opportunity to fulfil my dreams with working in the music industry helping to create the most talented artists to get the recognition they deserve as well as allowing people to enjoy the most amazing music.
